The Loss & Grieving Silver Circle is a compassionate, confidential peer group for women 50+ navigating bereavement and major life losses. How do you mourn a partner, friend, sibling, or long-held role while rebuilding a life that feels familiar yet fundamentally changed? Meetings provide a safe, held space to share stories, honor what’s been lost, and find companionship during an often isolating process. Grief after loss can be complex and non-linear—intense waves of emotion, reminders that reopen wounds, and practical changes that demand new routines. Loss may follow death, divorce, relocation, loss of health or independence, or the ending of important roles. While some losses have clear closure, many are ambiguous or cumulative, and grief reactions can include sadness, anger, relief, numbness, or persistent yearning. Understanding these patterns—how grief shows up physically, mentally, and socially—helps normalize responses and reveals pathways toward coping and adaptation. For many women in midlife and beyond, grieving is both deeply personal and socially challenging; friends may withdraw, expectations to “move on” can feel premature, and identity shifts (widowhood, solo living, changing family roles) can be disorienting. The Circle supports members through shared listening, memory‑sharing, practical coping tools (grounding, sleep, self‑care), and referrals to community resources. Together, participants work toward meaning-making, rekindling connection, and rebuilding routines that honor loss while opening space for renewed purpose and resilience.
