CARLEEN BIRNES
Health & Wellness Instructor
Carleen is a somatic yoga teacher, health educator, and creative facilitator with more than 25 years of experience designing spaces where women can return to their bodies as sources of wisdom. Her work weaves together nervous system science, somatic practice, craft arts, and mindful outdoor experience. She has taught health sciences in college classrooms, led yoga on the water, shaped clay and stone, and guided women into embodied awareness in nature. As a studio founder and community builder, she has witnessed again and again the transformative power of women gathering—how being seen and heard in a circle can turn private shame into shared resilience.
She believes the body is always speaking, though many of us have been taught to override or mistrust what we feel. Her work clears the noise so that women can hear themselves clearly. And she knows that self‑listening deepens when we are held by other women who are listening too. Through creative expression, somatic practice, and intentional community, she helps women reclaim the power that has always lived within them.
Carleen holds certifications in somatic yoga, nervous system work, and creative grief support. Beyond credentials, she is a potter, an adventurer, and a lifelong student of how embodied awareness and true witnessing change us. She trusts that real transformation begins when we stop thinking our way through and start listening to what our hands, breath, and bodies already know—and when our stories are held by other women who help weave them into the shared tapestry of our lives.
